Complimentary Membership Renewal?

So I've just hit VFF Gold for the first time and am looking at the Complimentary Hotel/Car Rental//Secure Sentinel Memberships. Just wanting to confirm though, is it only for the first year as a VFF Gold that I would receive the complimentary membership, thus after my renewal I would have to start paying for the memberships ect., or do they renew also as I renew my Gold status yearly, or better yet, go onwards to Platinum?

I rarely book my own car and hotel bookings, and the job I did just have which required the travel has wrapped up, so I wouldn't see the point in signing up for memberships I will rarely use and then see my credit card charged $xx_ next year.

Gold and Platinum Members are entitled to enrol once into each of program partners.

A downgrade or upgrade to a different Membership level of Velocity Frequent Flyer during the period of Complimentary Partner Membership won't affect the validity of any existing Complimentary Partner Membership.

If you become eligible for a different level of membership offered by the whichever Program Partner in the Car Hire Partner Program, Hotel Partner Program or Travel Service Partner Program and want to enrol in that membership level, just complete the enrolment through the 'My Benefits' section of the Velocity Website.
