Hi,

sorry, I know this has been covered before but the 2 previous posts i found were not very clear.

I'm currently on 1600 SC having already maintained WP for next year. I'm currently at just under 1000 SC since my renewal date.

can any other WPs confirm, do i need another 300SC before my renewal date to gift companion gold or am I eligible now? I assume I have to call Velocity once achieved - they wont call me?

You have to get 1300+ status credits from your renewal date to attain Companion Gold so yes you need another 300SC from your current 1000SC balance. Enjoy ðŸ

And note, the companion 12 month window to gift is from earning date and not your renewal date.

This happened to hubby, his renewal is May 23rd but he earned 1800+SCs in March 2017 so he has until March 20th 2018 to gift WP.

To further complicate the Companion (or is it Partner?) status question...

Currently sitting just over 1300 SC this status year, with 8 months till renewal so I can already gift Mrs OzEire 'Companion SG' any time in the next 12 months.

But I am confident that I will reach 1800 before renewal (and earn the option to gift WP). So the question is; do I hold off gifting SG now until reaching 1800 ... or can I gift SG now and also gift / topup to WP at 1800?

Presumably in the second scenario it is only possible to gift WP to the same person you gave SG, ie. it's not 2 bites at the cherry!

Does Mrs OzEire have any big travel plans (to benefit the 75 or 100% bonus points) before your renewal date?

We're holding off on the WP companion because the planned domestic travel between now and March doesnt really benefit us with bonus points because of the flight fares booked.

24.3.3 When a Platinum Member earns 1,000 Status Credits over and above the required number of Status Credits to maintain their Platinum Membership Level (800 Status Credits) within their Benefit Period (total 1,800 Status Credits), their nominated Companion Gold Member will automatically be upgraded to Platinum Membership (Companion Platinum Membership) within 7 days. If the Platinum Member hasn’t previously nominated a Companion Gold Member, then they are entitled to nominate a Companion Platinum Member.
