Hello everyone,
Possibly an easy question. I am travelling to Brisbane for work on a revenue ticket booked by my company.

Following my meetings i plan on booking a classic rewards flight BNE-HIR-BNE.

If i were to do this, would Qantas be able to combine the two bookings into one PNR? and if so, does it matter which order the bookings are made?

Cheers

Simple answer is no. You cannot combine PNRs.

Qantas can put a link in each booking to cross reference the other, but it depends on why you need it as to how useful that 'link' is.

Thanks for the prompt response MEL_traveller. I guess my hope in asking this is to find a way that the transfer from international would be protected as i have to be back in Melbourne the following day. If it helps, the flights would be:

QF380: HIR-BNE - 13.45 - 16.00 connecting to:
QF635: BNE-MEL - 17.55 - 21.15 (Revenue fare) or:
QF637: BNE-MEL - 19.55 - 23.15 (Revenue fare)

Cheers

No, unfortunately not. Linking bookings might be useful for the through checking of bags (the link allows the check-in agent to see your onward flight instead of you producing a piece of paper), it might also be useful if your inbound is late and the airline wants to know where you are (as in 'are they coming or are they hours away')... but it doesn't provide protection.

Ah rats, that's a pity. Can anyone think of other options? Or shall I give work a free ticket and tack on the BNE-MEL leg to my points flight?

What about adding a 'Ghost' segment to the first booking? Does that have any bearing on connecting flights and through check of luggage?
