On 5 November 2019, I was due to fly YVR- SEA-LAX, commencing on DL 4625 in Comfort Plus. When I arrived at YVR to check in I was told that Seattle flights were significantly delayed because of fog there. I was connecting at LAX to DL41 to Sydney that evening, so they instead booked me on an Air Canada flight AC 554 direct to LAX. I have VA Platinum status.

I took the AC flight but despite having paid for two flights with Delta in Comfort Plus, I did not receive any of the points I paid for, nor the 75 Status Credits for those flights. As I have no status with Air Canada, I was placed in a middle seat in Economy

As this re-routing was not of my doing, I asked for the appropriate points and Status Credits. I did this through retro points claim and it was taken care of within a week. Prompt service and great follow up by Virgin.

That's very interesting, as VA in the past have told me that they do not offer 'original routing credit' for flights in their policy. I'm very glad it worked out for you, I was expecting a very sad story.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

This would appear to have changed. 7 weeks ago had a mildly adventurous PER-SYD-MEL which was involuntarily changed to PER-MEL. Specifically requested an "Original Routing Credit" and as another commentator in a different thread said, was shown as "Bonus Points Adjustment" despite only being SCs (points were the same). A 2 day turnaround from enquiry to credit being another good result.

Yep, have had a couple of flights in the last 6 months that I have claimed ORC on. Last one was a CBR-MEL-ADL and they got me on the direct CBR-ADL flight. Called a couple of days later to request ORC and it was credited correctly by the next day

I got my ORC as well on a flight on AA to LAX. Required 3 weeks of emails though.
