Hi All

Sister went overseas and has agreed to give me her FF points. She flew from Sing to Syd on the 19th Feb.

When i go to claim her lost points, i enter in her flight number QF6, Date etc and when i select next comes up with "Based on your date of join, the earliest Travel date you may claim for is 10 March 2014"

Does that mean i have missed out on her points? or i must be doing something wrong

If someone could assist me that would be greatly appreciated

Are you claiming the points using your account or her account?

If you join you can only claim flights a month (in the last thirty days) before you join. If your sister had no membership until now you cannot claim.

Thanks Markis, that clears it up. She did not have any membership.

will such points be claimable on other airlines that partner with QF? (EK, AS, *O airlines)?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The issue will be joining a ffp now and crediting past flights.

US Airways is an option, but have not checked if the rules have changed. These will in time become AA miles (and are worth more than QF points). Not sure if it will work for QF flights.

Not all ffp's allow miles/points transfer. Some allow but for a cash payment. Points transfer to family members at nil cost is one of the very few advantages QF has compared to others.
