At Fecebook on the Citibank site, there was a posting about the Emirates offer for booking before Dec 31. A poster commented about the Emirates card being a great card except for the "cap".

Citibank replied that this was under review and "watch this space"

Hope we see the card become uncapped with the current 1.5 point per $1 being retained, as well as one free transfer to and from the airport.

Last month I flew Hong Kong - Dubai - Rome return in J . This allowed me access to the most incedible lounge in Dubai.

Yes the 150,000 cap is a killer as you need 13 months or up to two years to get to Europe and return in J.
I believe flights are available pretty much every day so it is a very interesting product seeing the redemption of points fees is so small.

Hmmm. I've been thinking the Emirates is one of the few premium Citibank cards which still has a cap. This could be very interesting.

I completed a Citi online survey for the Emirates card a couple of weeks back - it canvassed many options, including a higher tier card than the existing platinum.

FWIW I stopped using my card almost immediately after receiving it - partly because I couldn't stand Citi and partly because the then Virgin Blue arrangement ended the month I received my card!
