I'm wondering which OW FFP would be best for my wife to join to take advantage of a RTW OW 4CE we have planned for later this year through to early next year. I suspect the answer is QFF but we're open to reasons to try another program.

I think we've managed to get a good itinerary considering the price, ~AU$3920, 35966 miles, 305SC(QFF), AKL-SCL-IPC-SCL GYE-GPS-GYE CCS-MAD-CAI-AMM-DXB-LHR-NBO JNB-SYD-AKL.

There might be a few other flights on our surface sectors in South America which might be OW and our BNE-AKL AKL-BNE flights at the beginning and end are likely to be OW E too. I have ~150k QFF points so we might use those for some of those and when we're back home.

She doesn't fly much, if so it is usually domestic. She's not likely to fly for work and when it comes to spending our own $ would usually prefer to pay less for JQ or DJ rather than enjoy the comforts of QF and QP. In this instance she's seen the merit of traveling OW to take advantage of my QP membership (I don't think we'd get a better RTW deal anyway). She is a velocity member but that doesn't usually sway her buying decision. We're likely to be living in Australia for the foreseeable future.

If it has any bearing I'm a PS, mostly courtesy of work domestic flights, and fly mostly domestic QF, and sometimes JQ and DJ.

Welcome to AFF!

That is an impressive routing you have there.

My 2 cents would be to say that for your BNE-AKL and vv so could consider looking into a QF or JQ flight to SYD and then booking the LAN J special across the ditch return for about AUD$700. While I appreciate you already have lounge access as a QP PS, the extra 160SC r/t might help you get yourself closer to SG, though whether the cost of the extra flights is worth it to you is the question. But if you’re aiming to get higher than PS, and you’re not far short, the positioning flights might help ;)
