Good Morning!

Not sure if I'm silly for asking this... but my daughter is 10m old and just did her 20th flight (all in Regional QLD - nowhere exotic unfortunately!) :) Very exciting for us :) lol

But although I don't expect her to earn anything - seeing as she is a lap infant - I would love to keep track of her flights just for her own (one day) interest.

So far I have been "Claiming missing points" in her account just so the *Declined* message with flight details appears.

I'm assuming there is no better way to do this?

Also - second question! :) when we fly SYD-DFW with her as a lap infant in J - will she get a meal provided? Again, more out of curiosity - we will pack meals for her.

Thanks in advance :)

Joy.

Depends on the age I think - we were told that they had some baby food (9m) but we declined and took our own.

If you're just after some sort of flight tracking function I'd suggest openflights.org. It's free, and you're not limited to just QF flights.

You have to be over two for Qantas I found but having said that my youngest is about to turn four, so things might have changed since then.

I would pack your own baby food, it is in limited supply and I alsway found that it was safe to bring something the kidlet likes rather than run the risk of getting something they didn't.

There's a few options. As a lap child there's no FF earn/tracking.

You could use of of the sites above, or something like the ba97.com flight calendar, or perhaps even better as it does a graphic output is flightmemory.com which you could then print out the map when she's older and she can learn about the places more visually than just names.

FlightMemory - Where your memories fly! - Create your personal Flight Memory and keep track of where you've flown!

Edit re baby food: they'll carry a limited selection so it's far easier to carry your own. A tip would be to carry about a day's extra (in case the flight is delayed / lost luggage etc before you have time to buiy more in the US). You should have no problem carrying a reasonable amount through security (certainly we didnt travelling to NAN) - and we had about 3 days worth as we didnt know what we wopuld have access to at the other end if our luggage got lost as we had more packed in there too (thankfully it didnt).

With QF you will probably get some sort of food for the infant, either the standard meal, or a collection of baby foods (that's what we've been offered on QF each time, other carriers not so much). That said, BYO is probably the safest way as kids don't always like what is offered on planes, and if you BYO you can bring your child's favourites.

I was going to suggest this except I wasn't sure due to being Air Pacific operated. The couple of times we flew with an infant we got a pack of baby food that was excessive, at least a days worth, one large jar and 3 small jars.

FJ offered us a full sized J meal for minidoc (ageat the time: 8 months........). He actually ate quite a bit of it, but it was loaded with salt - i've never seen him drink so much water!

I think the message is: they'll give you something, but it pays to be prepared (which seems to be the rule of travel with children.....)

My experience has been that you need to request an infant meal with QF - not sure if you do this on the booking/website or otherwise ring up and request it. We got stuck on some flights before when we didn't request it and they don't have meals for an infant. Also make sure you request the bassinet - its so good.

Agreed!

I'm a bit ashamed to say, but my 5yo son has more SC this year than me
