I have a SYDx-BNE-AKL. (Formal connection).

Can I check luggage mid way in BNE or does it have to be SYD only?

Of you ONLY checkin in SYD for the SYD - bris section , then collect your Baggage and check in Bris for international , you should be fine . Just make sure the checkin agent understands in SYD.

Modified - this is assuming you have actual tickets SYD BRIS AKL not just a stopover on a SYD -AKL ticket ...

I assume with the overnight you'd have to re-check the next morning in any event. So checking a bag in Bne should be easy enough.

I initially thought the same, as a) it's only a DOM SYD-BNE and b) we're not staying airside of immigration in any case, we'll be going home for the night. But I'm now wondering about the next morning at BNE INT. I'd hate to get there and be told we've missed out on checked luggage as we didn't check any in SYD.

We'll be in SYD for the AFF mid year Chrissie function and don't really want to cart 3 suitcases OOL-SYD (especially as we're on a JQ carry on fare only) for no other reason than to check them on to SYD-AKL if we can do it in BNE.
