Hi Guys,

Im looking at booking a return from MEL-BKK departing Mel 30/11/08 and returning 15/12/08. Its a end of uni celebration getaway :)

If anyone can provide me with some tips on which sites to check out i would greatly appreciate it.

I've tried looking at the budget airlines ie: Fly Airasia to KUL and then to BKK, but the $199 one way fares to KUL are not valid during my travel dates.

So far the cheapest flight ive found was ~$1350 with Thai Airways, most other carriers seem to want at least $1500, so im guessing i wont find much better. Even jetstar wants more i believe.

Any airlines having specials? I think BA has a special from Melbourne from $949? I think i've seen it on flight centre, so i'll call them tomorrow.

Cheers,

These are the best prices I could find. Booking a month away for International will get you paying more though....Also a busy time for Thailand as you get a lot of Year12's going and so on...

-Flying Jetstar from BKK-MEL on 15th DEC is $600 (one-way though)
-Flying AirAsia X from Perth-KLIA is $653 retun (so MEL-PER-KUL-BKK) using AirAsia also on the last sector to BKK
-Also going via perth using Jetstar/Tiger to Singapore is cheap. So MEL-PER-SIN-BKK? or MEL-DRW-SIN-BKK
-Howabout MEL-SIN-BKK (With a combination of Singapore or Qantas to SIN, and the last leg on Tiger/AirAsia to BKK.)
-Whatabout Going MEL-SYD-BKK with Qantas/Virgin/Jetstar(Avalon) on the first leg, then Thai all the way to BKK.
-MEL-SYD-BKK with British Airways on second leg?
-MEL-SYD-BKK with Emirates on the second leg
-Thai Airways via Sydney or Brisbane?

Jetstar seemed to be full to Thailand during these periods and only have JetFlex really available...It depends if your into the whole "direct" flight thing, or if you dont mind, doing the whole 2/3 LCC sector thing and saving some dollars. Otherwise, changing around your dates here and there might suit you better.

But otherwise, Good Luck!!
