Has anyone's chauffeur drive booking just disappeared into thin dust and the drive not turn up??
A bit of a rant. 17/9 I am in DXB flying home to MEL in J (Qantas codeshare EK flight) and booked my chauffeur drive a few weeks ago for both a pickup to DXB and a drop off home in MEL.
I was supposed to be picked up 17/9 at 0555. I called the Qantas line on 16/9 2300 to change the pick up time to 17/9 0655.
0655 - waiting in 38 degree Dubai heat outside
0700 ....
0705 ....
0710 - decided to call EK bookings to see what was going on.
Was told 'there is no record of a chaffeur drive being booked'. Went to check his system 'I see you only booked this last night so there was no guarantee you would have the service'. Was advised to catch a cab to the airport.
Caught a cab to the airport, fortunately I wasnt staying far from the airport nor did I leave things to the last minute.
I check in. I asked 'just out of interest is my chauffeur drive booked in MEL'.
Was told that there was no record of a chauffeur drive being booked. Had to make a last minute reservation at the EK booking office and I guess I'll see if one materialises or not in MEL.
Poor service in my opinion. I took screenshots of my chauffeur drive bookings on my phone (to serve as reminders of the time) but unfortunately for me I dropped my phone in water a few days ago will have to try to recover the photos to use as evidence that I did book the chauffeur drive weeks ago.
So my questions:
1) Has anyone had their chauffeur drive booking just mysteriously DISAPPEAR and not get picked up? Extremely frustrating and poor service in my opinion.
