Chances of Waitlist being removed?

Looking to book a J flight in September. Have looked at a range of dates and legs (PER-MAN, MAN-PER, LHR-PER, PER LHR). I'm only in need of a seat one way with SQ to use some points due to expire - other leg will be with MH. Not too fussed whether it's SQ ex-AU or MH, though the best outcome would be securing a MAN-PER seat with the SQ points.

However, doesn't seem to matter which way I do it, I always end up finding the Saver awards are Waitlisted.

Anybody have experience as to likelihood that the waitlist will be lifted for such seats at this time of year? And if so, when? (If it's only going to be a couple of days before departure that won't really work - I'm looking for some certainty over the booking and, if needs be, I'd have to look at flying a different airline).

Any help appreciated.

There is absolutely no rhyme or rhythm to waitlists clearing. Sometimes waitlist clearing and waiting for the availability to appear can completely contradict each other. If there's an option you like, I'd waitlist it and then go ahead and book an alternative if you can find one (whether it be different class, different date or different port).

I know calling the KF line can, on occasion, help to clear a waitlist for for it to become available, there's nothing you can do. Just sit tight and check every day!
