Cathay exit row

Am I dreaming - I can get a free exit row on Cathay simply by ringing. OW Ruby and up get this privledge - save $100 a leg.

I've not been able to do this with Qantas (as silver). Is it a gold benefit?

You are not dreaming, although some exit row seats aren't very nice due to proximity to huge block of toilets, etc.

And you can't do this on QF as a ruby. I'm not sure about how that goes with the higher status, since, at 5' 8, it's not something I look at very much.
