Cannot upgrade an already made booking?

Hi

Can someone validate if this is correct please?

I have a booking from LA to BNE that is points + pay, flying PE.

I phoned up Velocity to ask what it would take to upgrade that to business but was told that once the booking is made it can't be changed.

Sounds a bit limiting!

Any ideas?

Award bookings cannot be changed in regards fare type once made. Changes and cancellations are treated as use it or lose it with Velocity at this stage.

Thanks Markis10. I was hoping to move it up to Business, but I will have to be happy with the middle of the plane!

I am in the same situation. Y+ MEL-LAX-MEL and was hoping to upgrade, but looks I too will have to settle for the middle.
