Hello,

Last year I had to cancel an Overseas trip with Qantas. I have already researched getting refunds and that was not possible. The ticket and its value is current for 12 months. That deadline is early May 2013 by which time I need to travel. Does anyone know if I have to do just one trip. What I mean by this is, could I fly to say Perth and back one week and then say two weeks later fly to New Zealand and back on a seperate ticket. And therefore use up the value of the 2012 ticket.

Thanks for any feedback

I believe that you can, but just need to ticket it before the expiry. What do the T&Cs say?

I honestly don't know. I have never seen a ticket from my Agent. I was hoping to get some clarity from members here, before I contacted my Travel Agent. Thank you for your quick reply.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I would call the airline and clarify the exact date in May the voucher expires & more importantly whether it is:

a) all travel (whether one or more trips) to be completed by early May or

b) flight bookings made by early May using the voucher for travel later in the year

If the agent tells you the wrong thing that's of no use to you if the airlines stands firm & tells you that you should have travelled by early May.

I'd make a move on this asap because May will come around faster than you know it & I imagine you'd need to get leave approved etc. I'll be a relief once you've done it then you can look forward to your trips.

Will the airline discuss this with the pax considering the ticket was purchased through an agent?

The OP may need to get written confirmatuion from the travel agent.

I hope they didn't use FC.

Thanks Oz and Hvr,

I have my leave already blocked out and can take other slots at short notice due to my type of employment. Thats a good idea, I'll phone the airline in the morning and ask those questions. I have faith in my agent (of over 20 years of serving me) but I thought members here would have appropiate ideas and thoughts on the matter.

Cheers all

From using a credit with QF in the past when it was booked for one flight, I was able to book as many tickets as I wanted before the expiry date and using the credit as I wished. It was a pretty simple process (and mine was a Red E deal)
