We were booked on the return leg of our trip from Rome to Singapore via London with BA. When we arrived at Rome airport, we discovered that the flight to London had been cancelled. They rescheduled us on a Qatar flight to Doho, then onto Singapore. I suspect this was done as we had the connection through to Singapore. If we didn't have the Singapore leg booked, I think we would have been reseated on the next available BA flight to London.
My question. As we had paid to fly Qantas & partner airlines to receive points, but couldn't due to the flight being cancelled, are we entitled to receive the points we would have received had the flight not been cancelled ? This was completely out of our control.
We are both members of the Qantas Frequent Flyer programme.
Thanks for any suggestions, comments.

IMHO,

Yes you are.

But you will have to ring up and do a claim.

There shouldn't be an issue as you are entitled to Original Routing Credit.

Send a copy of your original itinerary to Qantas along with your new boarding passes explaining flights were cancelled and ask for Original Routing Credit.

I have never had an issue and is generally processed within a week or so.
