We are looking at hiring a boat from Narbonne to Trebes via Carcassonne. The tour info says to allow 7 to 14 nights. Can anyone tell me if to do it in 7 nights, would that be motoring substantial hours to reach our destination?

We would like to divert just a little and take a run up to Fonserannes to the staircase of locks, but not sure if we would have sufficient time.

The alternative is to take a return trip from Port Cassafieres - Narbonne - Port Cassafieres.

Any advice is very welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have done this trip from Castlenauderay to Port Casafieres to. We hired a boat from "Le boat" company. 7 nights was definitely enough, there is only so many green fields and trees you can look at before it gets boring. There are some great little towns on the way. Carcassonne is definitely worth seeing.

Thanks for your info Dmitri, that's very helpful. Did you embark on the Fonserranes Locks?
