Hi all

Doing a little FJ status earning excursion to NAN in J and have the option of bulkhead row seats, just seeking your views on these. People mustn't like them because on both flights row 1 free but other seats are taken, which seems unusual.

On the FJ 767 MEL-NAN, 1A is available which I usually fancy (I prefer window). However seatguru warns that legroom is restricted in row 1. Yes, but how much less than the other rows? It also warns that the tray tables are in the arm rests which I'd regard as a +ve.

On the 747 NAN-SYD, 1A is also available, no warnings on seatguru but again these seats have been avoided by others. Any drawbacks other than the usual bulkhead row things? I've baggsed it as this would be my second successive 747 flight in 1A, putting me on a hat trick:)

Appreciate your advice

I can tell you if your 747 trip is after 3rd Feb but I'm no help before that.

Row 1 of the FJ 747s is fantastic. Lots of leg room and it's easy to get past your neighbour even with their leg rest extended. The only minus is the risk of a baby/bassinet somewhere for the 4 seats in this row.

Row 1 of the FJ 767 is less fantastic (from memory). And from MEL-NAN it's a red eye. The FJ 767 (and 737s) is not in the same league as their 747s in Tabua Class. I think I always went back to row 2 on the 767. The FJ 737 and 767 are fine for day flights.

Row one is a Go if you ask me - Picture included
BTW - I'm about 185cm tall so plenty of room

Thanks all

Very convincing pic rounds out the comments re row 1 in the 747:). One doubtful comment re row 1 on the FJ 767 and interior pics hard to come by.

In the interest of AFF scientific endeavour I have checked myself into 1A on both sectors and will obtain some pics.

But which row is the best in your opinion :?:

Easily row 1 for me in the 747.

Private, huge amount of room, served first.

Never been unlucky with kids in bassinets, I guess it's a leisure destination so they are usually crammed up the back in Y.
