building status points this year for re-qual next year?

Hiya Folks,

Got HH Gold for the first time this year - nice. I now have a set of golden handcuffs to HHonors which I am actually happy to wear (smile).

So, Gold has been good, but I'm never likely to reach Diamond, thats ok. I have an upcoming stay at a Hilton 23-31 December, I could easily extend that to check out on the 1st Jan. My question is, on what date basis are the nights/stays/points credited to your account? If I check out on the 1st Jan 2012, will I get 9 nights credited in my 2012 HH year?

Hi Moopere, I think you will get credited 9 nights for 2011 if you check out on 1st Jan
If you only obtained Gold status this year as per T&C's you get to keep that status for the remainder of this year and the subsequent year, so only need to start accumulating Gold stays/nights requirements throughout 2012

Ah yes, sorry, should be checkout 2nd Jan after a final night stay 1st Jan.

9-10 nights credit in the first days of 2012 would be a nice start to requal for the next year

The thought occurs that 8 of the 10 nights might get credited against 2011 and the last 2 might be 2012 .... Its also possible though, thus my query, that the credit will happen and be credited against the check-out date.

So I sent an email to hhonors in Sydney and they have replied already (on a Sunday!).

As is the way with email responses of this type, they never seem to 100% hit the question one poses, always wriggle room left, however:

"The stay will be completed in 2012 and the bonus points will show in 2012"

Its sort of stating the obvious when read out of context, but given my question, I'm reading that as a good start to my HH requal for 2012

I'm happy to hear that as I too am checking out of a Hilton on the 1st of January 2012 and would much prefer that the stay go towards my requalification....though sincerely doubt I will ever hit Diamond again..
