A short run down on restaurants I visited in Broken Hill. Most of the time I cooked for myself but in the last 3 days that was out of the question. On previous visits the clubs have been good value. Not so impressed this time.First lunch was at the Musician's Club.Lunch was $13 or $8 if a member. You got a soup, salad bar and bread roll with your main.I ordered the lanb and leek stew.Very ordinary and missing the leeks-
.
Next I tried the Social Democratic club.Better quality and similar lunch was $10.50.Came with the salad bar and bread roll.I had the Seniors special for $9-lasagna-
.
A much better place for lunch was The Caf.Directly across the road from the hospital. The first day I had a beef and shiraz pie for $5.very nice.the second time I went it was quiche with a beetroot and fetta salad.tasty-
.
The only real restaurant meal I had for dinner was at the Astra.probably the best of those in Broken hill though a little pricy.Service was very good though.I had the salt and chilli octopus followed by slow cooked pork belly-
.
.
I still preferred my curries.
