I need to book a flight from LHR to Oz later this year but every time I use the VA website it comes up with Etihad code share. Any tips/hints on how I can book an SQ flight on a VA flight number ? I have flown with Etihad and am not overly impressed with their inflight services. I am a VA platinum member.

im able to find VA flights on SQ metal, but with two stops bne-lhr using the kayak website (kayak.com.au/flights), any 1 stop services are unfortunately with etihad. Though not sure where you are flying from.

Do you specifically need a VA code?

Have you considered just booing through SQ?

I just did a search and SQ came up as the first 3 options. They are sorted by price, so maybe they are on the exxy side on the dates your looking? or possible sold out? (i doubt this) I know SQ comes and goes in the rewards section at times. If you have issued then maybe try the call center and ask if flights are available? They should wave any fees if unable to book online

Pros and cons of this. If he is plat booking with VA code gets 100% bonus points you dont get this if you book on SQ.
Downside is you lose seat selection and things like this

Definitely. What I was getting at was does the OP need VA sectors and what are the bonus points worth to them.
