Hi All

Am trying to book an award flight online between NY and Halifax (Canada) but the airport does not show up on Qantas website. I rang them and they said that not all airports are listed, and that it needs to be booked over the phone and that it would cost me a $60 booking fee.

Does anyone have any better advice?

Many thanks
LeahM

You can try argue your case that you shouldn’t have to pay an assisted booking fee for a service you could do online if the website gave you the option, but I don’t think they’d waive the fee.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Do you have any status?

Not necessarily better advice but you can keep calling until you get someone on the phone who is prepared to waive the fee. Some consultants have offered to waive the fee for me while others have not budged. I simply hang up and call back later.

Also I would consider writing a complaint/feedback to QF and ACCC if they will listen.
