My partner and I want to visit Beijing and Shanghai during our Hong Kong holiday next February. What is the best (cheapest) website to book on, and can we get QFF points and status credits? I've found the flights we want on Qantas but it only allows them to be booked as award flights - not paid flights. Is this normal?
All help appreciated as I don't want to repeat past mistakes.

Check through Skyscanner. You could also try ringing QF and asking how much to tack on to your existing itinerary - I know when you book them all together with QF at the beginning it often works out that the HKG-China segment on CX/KA is given to you very cheaply - cheaper than buying a separate fare from CX direct.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

CTRIP Is clearly the best access to all things travel in china, and english customer service has always been good, IMO.
As far as SC goes you need to make sure your flight comply, same as here in OZ really
