Bonus lounge access overseas

Not sure the best place to post for this one but I thought I would let people know so you can try your luck.
Currently gold for VA, was flying Singapore airlines from Germany. On checkin I asked about lounge access (was pretty sure there was no SQ lounge so therefore no access). The checkin agent advised me to wait and phoned the Lufthansa lounge which they share and was advised I was welcome in both the business and the senator lounges.

Went to the lounge scanned the boarding pass and card and allowed in!
