BNE-ZQN redemption experience - SQ *A or Westpac

In 2012 I want to take a trip from BNE to ZQN preferably in J across the Tasman. Looking at the dates there isn't much availability via *A redemption process via the SQ call centre.

I'm wondering if it is worthwhile transferring some of my Westpac Altitude points into ANZ Airpoints.

Can someone please point me in the direction of a guide ot the number of Airpoints for Y&J redemptions. I searched the website and joined Airpoints ($0 using code FAIRY - thank you)

I read that Trooper doesn't think the miles are good value for redemption.

Would appreciate thoughts on the value or otherwise.

Not good value for redemption. Go to myairnz.com, or airnewzealand.com.au and search for a normal fare. 1 AU Airpoint Dollar = 1 AUD. Points can't be used for taxes, and must cover 100% of the fare.

e.g. 10 August 2011, Seat Only, $382 inc tax
22 August 2011, Seat Only, $279 inc tax

Taxes are $73.50...

Thanks for that Futuris. When I look at the conversion rate from Altitude it isn't very exciting.

SQ doesn't show any availability for the dates I am looking for. Last year when I made a redemptionfor the 4 family members it was open.

I think there has been a change of policy on how many seats are released. I'll try again later this year.

Are you trying to search for Bussiness Rewards? If so you will find none. All 320 services are all economy

You could try a codeshare on VA as they have PE and will presumably have J next year.

That's a shame, thought I was onto something. Oh well.

Still, the Westpac points could be moved to Velocity (I don't have a CC so don't know if any CC can transfer points) and a premium award could be booked.

Ok, that makes sense why they have disappeared.I think I might have to actually pay case for a tix as none of the available redemption seats that I have found are a convenient times. That's not a complaint more of a reflection that on this trip I will not have as much flexibility as I usually have.
