Regrets, I have a few, etc, etc

Actually the biggest travel related regret I have had occurred when flying ZRH to JFK and was offered the chance to connect in CDG onto the Concorde.
Well, even though I hadn't flown it before I knocked it back thinking I prefer a non-stop flight and I'd catch the Concorde 'another day' wouldn't I?

Well, 'another day' never happened  ... they don't fly Concordes anywhere do they?

Anyway, from this experience I learned to grab more opportunities when they present themselves.

So, I'm curious if/what are other's biggest travel regret?

Apart from not being born as Bossreggie's daughter?? But he would have had to have been barely a teenager to be my Dad. ;)

Definitely the Concorde for me. Not that I would have had the chance - but it's something I would have loved to do.

There are others, but that's the one that stands out.

Now my biggest "non-regret". Seeing Atlantis take off on the final space shuttle mission. Something I will remember forever.

To follow Mals lead,

Definitely the Concorde, would have loved to have flown on it but I guess the timing was out by about 12 months.

Now my biggest "non-regret", flying on the inaugural A380 flight on SQ from SYD-SIN.

Going straight from high school to full time work - missing the party backpacking years.

Making up for it now - minus the backpack;)

Staying in Beijing for about three nights and not going to the Great Wall. Yes, inexplicable. However this can (should) be fixed on a future trip.

... another one would be not being able to get more travel in before Sept 11 and all the extreme security measures of today. Would have been nice to visit the coughpit during a flight.

On my backpacking trip to Paris in '88. To save money I didn't go all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Now I just pay the extra if I see something like that, as Paddy55 says, another day may not come.

Being in Delhi in December 2010 and not managing to get to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. Didn't realize quite how far away it was :(

Not spending some QFF points on a Concorde flight when I had the chance (and Mrs NM's permission) back in 2003.

Concorde for me as well. When they announced the end I priced up about a week round the world, including concorde, that would have involved a minor amount of debt. Had some semi-serious discussions with family but decided no in the end. :(

I hear you brother! I can't believe I passed it up.

Also was not fully utilising a MONE4 back in 2001 and combined with that sending lots of AA flights to QFF whilst living in the US. Sob!

Mine - going to the US so late in my life for the 1st time because I thought I wouldn't like it. Oops.

Although i never saw the shuttle take off I was in Manhttan for the flyover last week and saw it parked at JFK.

Every time I fly Qantas instead of Singapore Airlines, I regret it. Although I love Qantas and what it stands for - and I hate to be unpatriotic - the Qantas product is just not competitive. If Qantas got rid of the SkyBed and replaced it with a 34" seat in a private mini-cabin with a lush mattress like the SQ A380 and 77W, then maybe we can talk...

Losing a bucket load of points when Ansett collapsed.

Best Travel non regret, buying an apartment in Falls Creek meaning I would have to put my beach front shack holiday back and not go over Christmas to New Years in coughet in 2004.

There seems to be a recurring theme here. My housemate at the time worked for BA & offered to organise a RTW ticket with a leg on the Concorde ......

It would be safe to assume that Concorde would be a regret for almost everyone here. Closely followed by saving too many Global Rewards points.
(OT: Does anyone still use Diners Club?)

Would have loved to fly on the Concorde and if not fly at least see it in real life.

The TWA flight attendant on a ATH-JFK flight in 1990.

Could have been the beginning of something special or got me nowhere. ;) I shall never know....

Not accepting the USSR Ambassadors invitation to visit Moscow-long story and not telling.
