Best value FF point redemptions (best $ per point)?

Thought this might be an interesting discussion topic: what is the best value you have achieved when redeeming FF points? i.e., where have you achieved the best dollar-per-point ratios, and what was that ratio?

I'd imagine F and J RTW redemptions will be right up there, but the best I've personally achieved is ~17.5c/point for a DPS-MEL in J flying Virgin, before they "enhanced" the points+pay redemption rates recently.

Sometimes it can be the perceived value rather than points value extracted. When we go back and forth to Sydney from Perth we try to pick Longreach QF 747 for about 40k points as WPs on JASAs. The old first class area is now refitted as a J cabin but the ride is always smoother up front. Absolutely worth those points for that domestic run on QF581 and QF582.
I think of this one as being the best domestic value due to comfort.

IMHO Always upgrades international PE to J or J to F. Look at the commercial value and work backwards.

I used 576,000 points on QF to save about $44k for a full US trip. The QF points at the time cost about $4k (at the most) so a long haul producing 7 cents plus can make you feel warm inside.
From the AFF forum we can now cut that $4k cost by more than half so life got just a little bit better.

Got a JASA Syd - Scl return later this year for my +1 for 192000 QF pts + ~$750 cash; if purchased, fare cost >$10k. With points earned for trip, it works out at >5 cents per QF point.....not the best, but happy enough....

Value is so personal, I get 12c per point on a favourite domestic flight but I would never pay published price.

10K to upgrade + a 744 with plenty of upgrades available = v happy Paddy after a long week in Perth
I'll be sad to see the 744 go, although I do see a couple of A333s on the trip so at least there'll be Skybeds

I'm not counting the cost of earning the points as that varies so much from method to method. ~7.6c/point, not bad.

A bit OT, but when does the 744 SYD-PER and PER-SYD go away? I was looking for a SYD-PER-SYD JASA on the 744 in June, but all I could spot was 738/767/333 (didn't look too hard though).

I think the 744 flights end somewhere end of april/first week of May...

I think JASA eg) Per->Mel->Syd->Hkg for 60k points + 500 bucks is good value.... well any JASA in the most indirect route would be my best bang for your point(s)!

Lots of good things come to an end.....years ago they retired the fast but smaller 747SP. I was disappointed when I was going to the US 3 times a year on that one to see it finish.
OJD would have done some serious flying time but I really like those 5 front rows on Big Bird.
Looks like we have to bond with Airbus and forget the saying "if it's not Boeing we ain't going"!
