Looking to got to Hawaii for say a week end of April beginning of May.
Jetstar Starclass looks to be about $2,500 on their website.

Wondering when to book & who to book with for a good deal.
Prefer to fly Business Class..

Appreciate your thoughts.

Jetstar had a *class sale recently at approx $1,300pp return.

These come out periodically but I have no idea of there is any pattern or regular timeline.

Hawaii's a bit of a different market as there isn't so much competition there any more. The biggest deals have come when Hawaiian has needed to offer a special (being US based they've felt the pinch), or when Jetstar runs a periodic special, but there's no defined schedule.

I guess you know Star class isn't really business class either (although it is Jet star's premium class)?

Just be aware that in April next year there are school holidays and Easter so it is doubtful there will be a jetstar sale for that time frame. Perhaps it's better to plan to go in May and just keep an eye our for the next lot of sale fares whenever they may appear.

I am thinking of starclass to HNL next year some time as well (will have to be school holidays sadly) but I can't get past the 38" pitch - seems so small :(

JQ has irregular but frequent sales to HNL so you just have to keep your eyes on the lookout for them. I personally would avoid paying for StarClass as the comfort level isn't that great over the economy cabin imo. As I travel in pairs, I'm happy with the 2-4-2 configuration in Y where I can just allocated side seats. Of course if I was chasing SC/FFpoints and/or the price was desirable then that is a different consideration.

If travelling in Y, here's a reference of my purchases SYD-HNL (thanks JQ for these specials)

November 2008; $590 for two pax.
August 2009; $540 for one pax + $150 for a one way UPG to StarClass prior to flight.
February 2011; $1,040 for two pax.

For places to stay suggestion, head straight to The Royal Hawaiian :) :)

We shall be travelling as a three together including toddlergr who will next year be two  and he only flies in J...
