Best option for J return to Abu Dhabi?

Hi guys, was hoping for some advice on the best options to fly x 2 in J to AUH in October.

Have used a heap of points to LAX for June but am looking at Seychelles in October and still have 350K VFF points. Wondering if booking and upgrading or reward flights may be a good option.

Upgrading costs almost as many points as a reward ticket, and a more expensive fare. It also books into the same bucket as J awards so no extra availability (maybe some exceptions close into the flight date).

So unless the company is paying an economy fare anyway, I don't see the benefit of upgrading VA internationally.

Well after looking into as many details as i can it seems i may have to book an economy saver fare, save the money for the holiday and reap the extra SC's and points. Maybe better directly booking with EY as they are actually cheaper than via VA.
