Just became WP recently so I am new to the world of First class lounges. I am currently planning a trip to France, UK and Germany (very flexible on the order of visit) and I was wondering which of these airports (CDG, FRA or LHR) has the nicest First lounge? Is the JAL first lounge in FRA worth a visit?

Thanks for your suggestions!

IMO the Flounge in CDG is woeful, LHR T3 is not much chop & I don't remember anything special about FRA.

The good news......SYD Flounge is wonderful......so enjoy it to the max:D

I was at the JAL FRA F lounge last month, it was crowded and not very big.

Can't speak for CDG. (I am fortunate that I do not have to go to France for work, it goes without saying* I wouldn't go there for pleasure!!:p)

LHR will depend upon which terminal you are at. The T5 BA F lounge is not too bad at all. T3 has CX, AA, and BA/QF Flounges. My preference is for the BA/QF F lounge. It is OK but no where near as good as the MEL or SYD F lounges.

*The poster did feel the need to say even though it goes without saying. :p

The secret for planning a business trip to France is to add buffers days before and after the meeting to account for spontaneous union strikes... :)

If flying from LHR, T3 lounge is fairly average, but BA T5 lounge is excellent - so try to get on a BA flight with QF flight No.

Not sure about the Cathay First Lounge, but I thought the Admirals Club was quite acceptable (compared to their domestic offering)

Thanks everyone for your comments!
I will most likely book MEL-xx_-LHR-FRA-CDG-LHR-xx_-MEL. This way I'll enjoy BA/QF First lounge in T3 and T5.

Cheers!

BA Flounge at T5 LHR is good but at T3 average but significantly better than FRA and CDG which are woeful. Good job you're now WP because BA T3 LHR J lounge is a joke - more like a holding pen.

I like all the lounges at LHR terminal 5 - have fun and enjoy your initial experiences of F lounges:)

the Sakura/Emerald Lounge at Frankfurt is a dump, standing room only before QF6 departs and no Champagne. A couple of tiny showers, and we had to use the public ones outside due to the queue. The decor is not comfortable and the lounge is not private. The food is low grade and in short supply, consisting of some German cakes, tiny little sandwiches and Frankfurt sausage. The toilets, with their built in buttock drying devices, are fit only for the worst kind of international pervert and I can't figure out whether its the Japanese or the German element which had them installed, but given the shared histories of those blighted places neither would surprise me. Stick to British Airways.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

We're flying Mel-LHR-Mel in April, will we be better off to try the Emirates lounge in LHR? Is that possible given terminals? Appreciate any advice :)
