Hi guys booked 2 J seats on points in june for travel from SIN to MEL. HAve booked the upper deck, does anyone know of any particular seat that should be avoided. Seat guru seems to be a bit outdated from what i could see. Does anyone know if these J seats are the refurbished flat beds ?

On a slighlty different note I will be flying into SIN from Melb earlier in the month and was also looking to fly a connecting to KL....airasia's promo is difficult to resist...would i need to check out and check in my luggage or can i check it straight thru to LCCT in KL from melb.

Thanks...

See link, love the comment that even airasia doesn't interline with Airasia!!

The best SIA seats are on the 380 and 773ER. Truth is any seat is good on SIA J class, but my pref would be forward cabin in the absence of more specific advice.

When I was PPS my seat was 11K and it was automatically selected from profile upon booking.

Thanks will probably just connect with MAS. In regards to seats I have chosen 17K & H in keeping with seatguru recommendations

Flew back on SQ237 on Monday night - seats are definitely old space beds and do not lie flat.

17H on upper deck is my absolute preferred seat on 747 but this time I booked late and indeed most of upper deck was occupied - so as you have secured 17 H & K they are the best seats on 747 J IMHO.

I booked 23F on lower deck - only 2 pax on lower deck - I slept all the way.

FYI from Apr 1 onwards the 77W disappears off MEL-SIN run to be replaced by 777-300 with new regional layout - the upside to this is now J Savers available on 2 flights daily.

WEll i will be flying in june ...so that will be fun..although i have not seen any official comment on this.

Sorry was not clear, I have not seen a statement from SIA indicating the change in service from 747 to 777 coz when i booked it was all still using 747 rather than 777

No sorry I was not clear either - the 747 stays on MEL-SIN route - 77W is the one that disappears.

I have seen no notifications either just see different metal when redeeming flights post Apr 1.

Just seen this thread.
Seatguru isn't always the...guru.
IMVHO the best seats are 17A & C.
17A used to be reserved for PPS only.
17H&K has a crew seat in front.

I really like 17A.
