Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

does anyone have the topic regarding the nab citylink issue?

I'm searching for it without any luck.

It seems reasonably clear that the accounts that have (or did have) 2 cards attached are the ones being shut. No issues on my single card accounts. Personally i thought getting the 2nd was pushing it too far.

2 account on my household , 2 cards on mine 1 on the wife (she was reluctant to get 2nd cards as she thought that is too much ) . Haven't received the letter yet as of yesterday mail .

Thinking about call up and cancel 1 cards to keep myself under the radar , only joining the game since April

Does anybody have experience with 5c transactions with Telstra? If so, were you charged a credit card fee?
I was when I was doing 2c transactions, yes.

I was doing 2c transactions for the first month or two because I wanted to pay my entire bill in full this way. Even a couple of days of 10c transactions.

Once I worked out that they'd charge me a CC fee (no matter how miniscule it was) I then decided to stick to 1c transactions and just BPAY the remainder (which doesn't earn points when you BPAY from the BW account).

ah i see, thanks for this! was thinking I could hit 2 birds with 1 stone by paying whole bill off and also avoiding any possible 1c payment detectors...

will stick to 1c + BPAY also

It's possible BW are working through a list of those who have earned the most QFF points. Obviously, those who have had 2 or more cards in use the longest, will have earned more points than those with only 1 card, or those using 2 cards, but for not as long. BW may eventually close 1 card accounts doing 50 payments per day, every day, too.

What BW considers reasonable use of our accounts is still not known.

Of course BW could resolve this, by specifying an amount that you must spend, before you earn QFF points for a card transaction.

My families cards where all cancelled.
1 card per account.
Although it was 2 cards per account up until about 6 weeks ago when they made us close 1 card on each account.

With direct debit payments, I'm pretty sure that Telstra will only debit the outstanding balance on the bill due date, not the balance shown on the bill. No CC fees either. So you could let Telstra work out how much to pay and make the payment, instead of you having to do that.

you can pay the remainder with Paypal and still earn points on it, you don't get points from BPAY, but you will with a points earning credit card linked to the paypal account this also avoids having tom pay credit card fees, and if using an Amex that only pays 0.5ppd for utilities this will allow you to receive the full 1ppd I'm pretty sure.

Has anyone had their Rewards Transaction Account (i.e. not the Qantas one) cancelled ?
Trying to work out whether to cash in the points asap or to keep accumulating.

C.

I am getting a bit concerned if BW are just closing accounts and sending out a cheque in the mail. I am currently o/s and have no way of checking my physical mail, which I rarely check when at home anyway... I only have the one card and get through 50 trx a day. I have payments in and out of the account, so I will be very unhappy if it just stops working. I can't remember if I notified BW that I was o/s and there is no way online to check, that I can see. Not much I can do other than wait it out I guess!
