Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

I have deliberately stayed with Telstra on home phone and broadband purely for the purpose of using my BW cards. I suspect I am not alone.

Currently have a mobile with Telstra and building up extra credit last few month , thinking about moving my ADSL from TPG to Telstra as well .

Yes I have. I opened a second account right at the onset of this whole thing and before it was explicitly disallowed on the sign up page. A couple of month ago a nosy teller at a local branch noticed I had two separate PANs. I told her to stop what I had asked her to do as I was in a rush... Of course she followed it up with the head office and I had a call from Perth a few days later. I was informed I was only allowed to have one account, and one of the 2 accounts had to be closed. Fortunately this all happened on the 2nd or 3rd of the month, so all points from previous month had already been posted to Qantas.

Edit: I must mention that even though closure of the second account was a bummer, the whole interaction was very civil and courteous. I think it helped by the fact that I was not making a fuss. I enjoyed the benefits as long as I did and when the time came I was happy to move on and not act childish.

I more meant that after the account has been closed, could one just open another account?

I'm patiently waiting for my points as well. Expecting a big payout if it comes through.

Have you points posted nightelves

Update on my situation . my acc received points ok on 5 July like other months however my partner account still having problem and haven't received points for 2 months now . Contact bankwest via online chat . agent confirm that Bankwest have sent out point on the 1st of every month in my case

only 1 card on her account
1250 points on 1st June
7029 points on 1st July

Which explain we received points on 5 every months . he saying that it could take up to 21 days for the points to appear on QF account and seem very surprise to hear that i haven't received the first lot of 1250 posted on 1st of June . It look like they post point no matter you received estatement or not . Double check all name and qf number all correct . He said he need to investigate and get back to us .

hi bill points posted fine. Not sure if this happened to you and you might want to test this out as well. Previously I had a card that was under my name and it was churning through the transaction just fine. However after a few days I noticed that I would no longer see those transaction appear through estatement even though it was successful processed.

so what I did was do a test purchase and found out that card that was under my name was processing payments through my partner's account. This happened in June a couple days after receiving the card. That would be the only thing I can suggest to you also.

Look like the card and the account is fine no problem at all .

If I get a second card does it appear on Internet banking with a seperate account number or are both cards connected to one account?

Has anyone taken up their other card that earns BW rewards?

Not as good looking at it but better than risking getting too many cards on the one account

Did you have to wait for 90 days since account open nightelves .

I recently got a contact back from Bankwest team saying that i need to wait for 90 since account open on my partner account for the first lot of points to be transfer over .
Account open on 26 APR so 26 JUL is the date and first lot of points will be transfer over on 1 AUG for total 3 months worth .
It is very strange compare to my account which is open late FEB and i received the first lot of points on 5 APR which is less than 90 days .

is anyone else having similar 90 days problem when you first open your account . happy to wait for another month to received 3 months points earn but i don't like it the way it is , there is something wrong .

Check back the thread in page 200 or around there , there is another member he opened 2 account Qantas and BW Rewards and earn points on both without any problem .

in my opinion unless you have alot of bill to pay and don't have enough account n cards it not worth it to pay $15 for 7500 BW Rewards points .

I building up extra credit on my Telstra phone bill for the last few months

But that $15 is not "lost" if you are building up extra credit? But yeah at 38000 points for a $100 gift card you are not gaining much ech time. Maybe an extra $20 a month in rewards

Not lost you right but i rather sign up with another services like adsl or 2 phone account instead of building up credit .

Nah Billt mine posted on the 6th of every months on both mine and partner's account. Opened my account near the end of May and points posted two weeks later as mentioned by someone on the 6th June

Not sure where the 90 days waiting come from but there nothing i can do now . Just need to wait until next batch of transfer in AUG .

I put in my request to swap to Energy Australia a couple of months ago. Can I ask what people currently experience when paying EA with their BW card. It only lets me do three payments a day of 10 cents each. Is that what others experience, or is there a way of making more than three 10 cent payments per day?

So couldn't work out why I could t log into my account... Last two days I received letter in mail confirming cancellation of account. Then a follow up letter deros long clause number etc and a cheque for the balance ( means I have to goto bank branch for first time in years)

I didn't ask for it to be closed so clearly they took it upon themselves. I was only doing 50 x transactions a day so hardly a burden on the system.

Bad move on BW behalf as I have now just moved my mortgage away from them too.
