Trying to urgently find and book flights for 1 lady and her 4 kids ( 6-6-7-9). Y and one ticket.
Decided best to go with QF and Air North.
Avoiding JQ to hopefully have better seating and entertainment and paying for food etc??
Will their baggage go straight through to Dili or do they need to uplift in Australia?
Do they avoid Australia immigration/customs?
Is 1h 55m a realistic connection time in Brisbane?
Thanks

More info needed.
What happens between SYD/BNE?
If SYD - BNE is a domestic flight, they would need to pick up bags and do Australian incoming immigration procedures in SYD, do their domestic flight, and then do outgoing immigration processing in BNE.
Its a hard tough run.
Smartgate can help, but needs 2 adults, so your "party" will have to use the immigration staffed line, at Sydney on incoming.
Going out is not that bad, just have to line up for the staff as well, but they are more easy going, its coming into Australia that can be a long line.
Probably the 9 year old will be self disciplined, probably the 7 year old as well, but she will have to keep the 2 6 years old from straying off.
Its rare to have an international flight SYD - BNE with QF these days, they don't run so many domestic flights leaving from international terminals anymore.
Edit: umm, ahh, BNE - DRW would also be a domestic flight.
So its a mixture.
So, the first immigration arrivals procedure will be SYD, then its all domestic, the last immigration outgoing will be DRW.
Anyways, do give us more info. At first glance, QF won't put the bags as through luggage. as there are domestic flights involved.

Sorry - I should explain the SYD/BNE just meant either SYD or BNE.
It will now be SYD. layover will be 4 or 5 hours so MCT not a problem.
All 5 are on kiwi passports which might help with any immigration requirements.
Thanks again.

They will disembark in Sydney, clear incoming immigration/passport control, collect all luggage, clear customs, exit the international terminal, walk the short distance (with luggage) to the QF Domestic Transfer counter, check in their luggage, catch a transfer bus from the SYD International terminal to the SYD Domestic terminal (they are completely separate buildingsat different areas of SYD), then wait for their domestic flight to DRW. In that order.

4 hours in SYD to accomplish this is easy done.

Outgoing Immigration/passport control will need to be passed through in DRW before taking the final leg to DIL.

I left Dili in 2012 but at the time we needed to check bags in separately with Air North whom had a terrible knack of leaving bags behind in Darwin due to weight reasons.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

They will need their NZ departure cards filled out, now provided by check in staff downstairs at AKL, and collected upstairs by NZ Immi/Customs going out.
Take a look at google.com to see what the questions are, so she can pre prepare what to write, important if its her first international trip out of NZ.
Entering Aust, they will need to fill in an Aust IPC (incoming passenger card) one each, provided on the plane.
Collected by ABF in SYD, they might or might not get their bags xrayed or searched, most likely not, but who knows.
At DRW, they will not need to fill in OPC (outgoing passenger card) anymore, as they don't exist for Aust anymore.
Are there any contingency plans if things go pear shaped?
Edit: and by the looks of it, she has to overnight in DRW by the looks of it too.
Only one flight per day with QF373.
