Baggage allowance on QF, CX & QR?

Hi,

My partner and I are flying to Europe next month. I am QC, and we are flying MEL-SIN return with QF in Y, SIN-AMS with CX in J, and CDG-SIN with QR in J. I've been looking at the baggage allowances on each of the websites, and I'm starting to get a bit confused.

We are planning to take 3 medium suitcases, with none weighing more than 23kg. Will I be allowed to do this?

Are those three trips (MEL-SIN, SIN-AMS and CDG-SIN) all on separate bookings / tickets?

If they are all separate tickets, then the baggage allowance of each airline will apply to the respective flights. This means:

• For MEL-SIN return on QF in Y, as a Qantas Club, you will be allowed to check-in 42 kg per passenger (pieces irrelevant)
• For SIN-AMS on CX in J, you will be allowed 30 kg per passenger (pieces irrelevant)
• For CDG-SIN on QR in J, you will be allowed 40 kg per passenger (pieces irrelevant)

Depending on how much your 3 suitcases weigh altogether, your biggest struggle to comply with baggage allowances may be the CX service, although if each of your bags weighs 20 kg on average, between the two of you it should be no problem.

All separate bookings. As the CX flight is at the start of the trip, we should be able to stay under the 60kg! However, the way back may be a different story!
