Just a heads up that Qantas are changing from A380s to 747s for their LAX - SYD route for the next two weeks at least. Checked in today to find our plane had been changed (and I had 71D booked!) and overheard a Qantas agent saying it would be the case for the next two weeks as they are changing which planes service which routes. Needless to say there are quite a few pissed off Business and First passengers in the lounge tonight - not all of them will be getting the seat they thought!

Do you mean QF11 or QF17? Or both?

This is QF12 and 18 out of LAX. That's the 10pm and 11.55pm.

I have 11 on Wed and 12 next Sun. Still showing as 380 [at the moment]...

Just checked Expert Flyer, looks like 747-400ER VH-OEH operated yesterdays QF11 and QF12 (27 June), A380 VH-OQA is operating todays QF11, A380 scheduled for tomorrow, and Monday's QF11 will be a 747 again. Rest of the week is showing A380, and no change to QF93/94 aircraft.
There must be an issue with one of the aircraft to be using 747 on these flights.

There is a busted A380 sitting in LA.. OQD.. And OQC is having an engine change in SYD, so issues with QF7 today and tomorrow. And OQE is in Manila..

Hopefully my flight is going to stick to being an A380. Been looking forward to sitting in 32A (with 80A and 71D as back ups still available!)

Hopefully our QF17 will stick as a 747 ... travelling J with (old) F setting is hard to beat.

So 380 has 16 F seats right? How many F does 747 have? Are they the same seats or older version? Any / much difference in quality of F seats 380 v 747?

I kind of like the old F seats, but QF doesn't offer F service anymore in their 747 and they have very few 747 remaining with old F seats.

Really? So pax who bought and paid for F on 380 actually get J on 747? Really?

Or wait for the next available F seat on a 380....of course they will most likely jump on the generous compensations offered by QF in case of downgrade, something like 750$ :p
