BA Plans for SE Asia

I'd be sad to see BA withdraw from the Australian routes, but I can't say it would come as a great surprise - they've not flown to New Zealand for years, favouring instead codeshare arangements.
The revenue generated per hour flown is undoubtedly not as good as on the North Atlantic and the cost of keeping crew at stations down the line must be high. Turning aircraft round in SE Asia and letting QF fly the rest of the way has been the trend of recent times, though I would always favour making the complete trip on the same aircraft.
The numbers will have their say (for instance BA haven't flown to Dublin for ages) but there is a certain status to having your aircraft visiting all corners of the globe.

I agree. In fact I think BA may have already pulled out if QF has not be fleet constrained in recent years.
