Hi all,
I booked some domestic return Classic reward seats recently (U Class), and I have given myself a tight turnaround at my destination, due to availabilty of seats.
If I was to miss boarding for my flight back, what are the likely consequences?
i.e are there complications given it is a reward flight?

Thanks

Are they one one ticket or separate tickets?
QF are usually good with this sort of thing, but it helps greatly if both flights are on the one ticket.

Hi notzac,
They are on the same ticket.

Thanks

In which case, you should be protected against any mis-connects - if you missed the second flight due to late inbound arrival of the first, QF should put you on the next flight with an available seat automatically.

Thanks again, notzac,
However, I am more thinking if I miss the flight due to my own tight scheduling and being unable to make it, rather than late connections.
ie Are the normal fare class rules applicable, even if it an award flight? And what would the likely outcome be if I did just miss the flight?

Thanks

I'm missing something with this. I am not sure of the distinction you are drawing between scheduling and your tight connection. If it is one ticket QF will look after you.

In reality they will probably do so anyway even though they may not be obliged to do so.

It has no relevance whether it is an award flight or paid flight. If Qantas has issued the connection on the one ticket then it is a valid connection and it is Qantas' responsibility to get you from one flight to the next. If you miss the connection you will be put on the next flight.

Or perhaps the OP plans to do something in between the flights and is not sure he'll make it back of the return?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

G'day,
Just to update, the return flight concerned was for today. Missed the said flight (no-show), and had to rebook a Super Saver to get me home under new ticket.
redroo was right, could cost me indeed! Live and learn.

Cheers

Hi all,
After contacting QF about this, I was told for 5000 points I can "re-instate" the return flights. Must be same sectors, ie no changes.
Think I'm pretty lucky there!

Cheers
