Avianca * A Gold Card

Just thought I would let the forum know about using the Avancia Gold Card from Perth yesterday.
when doing the check in we had about 10 kgs over so showed the Gold Card , and it was like showing a credit card , the agent asked " What's this" when I told her she went away to see a supervisor, he then he went to see his manager, 20 min later, and a bit more talking all was ok, they said they hadn't seen one of those Avancia Cards before.
All was ok in getting into the lounge, also in Bangkok Lounge,,then when we checked in at the gate to go coughet, they took our boarding cards off us and upgraded us up to J,NICE Supprise eh, just thought some of you guys might be interested, hope the post wasn't to boring

I am still using a print out of the card. Did you ask for a card to be issued, or did it just turn up?

I printed off the one off the web site when they gave me the match,the a few months later a got the proper card.

My card printout does not show date, so not getting accepted. Asked for card 2 months ago and still waiting

I haven't needed to yet. I have only used the status once with an AC flight. The O6 number in the booking was enough to allow lounge access. I had the printout with me just in case.

I got my 06 card but have been disappointed not to have been asked for it ever - the boarding pass has been sufficient, but only used it in Scandinavia. It expires in March and I don't see any likelihood that I'll re-qualify. The Amigo program seems opaque and basic. Nice while it lasted, though.

On a side note, Avianca Brazil currently has a double points promo.

JessicaTam - thanks for that data point. I'm flying UA but have SQ KF on my booking (i'm building up my status on KF, but not quite gold yet - hence why i have KF and not Avianca on my UA booking). Since I dont have *A Gold on the booking, any thoughts on whether they will let me get the benefits of Amigo Gold *A status with my phone printout when I dont have it on the booking?

Wiser heads than me will know the best way to do it, but I would have O6 on the booking until you are in the lounge, then swap it out for SQ.

yep i dont think its worth to do that myself. will attempt what I initially planned with the print out and see what happens..

Correct, that where all the hassle was Amigo card, Thai flight, Singapore points, well it wasn't really a big deal , I think it was the first time they had come across one here in PERTH, ( you know what WA stands for? Wait awhile eh,took about 15 - 20 min to sort out, but after check in all was ok, went through priority boarding etc, and like I said previous when we went to board the flight to coughet they replaced our BCards with Js, collected our luggage of the carousel in coughet all had priority on and only waited about 2 min, so all was ok in the end

Typo fixed. I hadn't even noticed it.
