Has anyone flown this flight? How often to they fly there? I live in Melbourne, Australia but don't want to fly via Norfolk Air.

I haven't flown on this route, but I am curious to know what your objection to Norfolk Air might be.

(Disclosure: I work for the Government of Nauru. Norfolk Air is operated by Our Airline, the national carrier of Nauru.)

A quick trip to airnewzealand.com.au and looking at flights show it's weekly on a sunday.

+1 to why you dont wish to use Norfolk Air.

lol nothing against the airline! Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia will be sharing services from the end of the year. It was a chance to make some velocity points. On a different note I am interested in travelling to Nauru someday soon. What is the accommodation like?

I've done this flight. It's operated by a domestic ANZ 737. All Y class. Service is sort-of international with meals and drinks provided.

The flight is notoriously late. Rumour from NI folk was that ANZ consider the flight to be rather low priority and operational changes in the NZ domestic network take priority.

On NI, you can pretty much wait until you hear the jet approaching before going to the airport. (That's not quite true - but almost!). There's not much at NI airport - but there are some pubs/restaurants across the road.
