It's fine. Not spectacular. Reverse herringbone seats like many other carriers. Worst thing out of Melbourne is the timings. MEL-SGN-CDG means getting up early at the start and then having over 6 hours in transit in SGN. The lounge is quite decent, but there's absolutely nothing else to do there. (And you'd have to get a visa to leave the airport.) There might be destinations with better connections, but I never went anywhere that VN flies directly and you can connect to pretty anywhere on AF from CDG. While CDG can be a mess, VN lands at terminal 2E and most AF short haul flights depart from 2E as well, so it's an easy connection.

One other thing: The AF boarding passes that VN printed weren't usable by AF. Different format and AF's systems can't read them. However, CDG's security gates can read them, so they are good enough to get you back into the departures area of the terminal again and the lounge can print out new ones for you.

As Kremmen said it's fine. Cabin crews English was variable on our flights but they were friendly and tried to please. I found the B787 seat hard on the long flights to/from Frankfurt so I used the blanket as an extra bit of cushioning.

We found the food to be perfectly ok and I had the best steak I have had on an airplane on the flight out of Frankfurt. It was very pink, soft and tasty. The J Lounges we used - Singapore (very poor contract one), Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to not be anything special. In Frankfurt they used the JAL lounge because their normal contract lounge had not yet re-opened after COVID and it was pretty good,
