Dear VFF,

In the booking engine, some flights e.g. VA185 (MEL-NAN) are listed as operated by "Virgin Australia NZ".

Neither the status credit page, or the double status credit offer terms & conditions mentioned "Virgin Australia NZ".

If a flight is operated by "Virgin Australia NZ", is it still considered operated by "Virgin Australia" for SC and particularly the current double SC offer?

Thanks.

Reading the T&Cs personally and looking at the examples of DSC they give on the Velocity Page, as long as the flight is on VA Metal itself, you should be fine :)
Another point of note I called up about today; If you change a Flexi Booking made between now & Dec 31, as long as the booking travel dates still fall between Feb 1 & June 30, you'll be fine to recieve the DSC also!

Now why VA wants to confuse people with "Virgin Australia NZ", particularly on a flight to NAN is confusing me.... Its weird enough having VA NZ in the same column as AirNZ flights when I'm booking BNE-AKL/WLG....

Virgin are obligated to show the operator of the flight by law, both they and Qantas have NZ based companies.

The more hilarious thing is that the NZ registered aircraft - ZK-PBx
(the former Pacific Blue painted aircraft) I think its just PBA/PBB repainted at this point

all say Virgin Australia and have the Virgin Girl carrying the Australian flag (you can see via the Commonwealth Star)

whereas the Qantas ZK aircraft do display the NZ flag.

...as well as 'Spirit of Australia' titles!

It wasn't till they go the 738 that the 'Spirit of Australia' titles where added the 733/734s original had a blank spot, they also where minus the roo on the engie for a while. Qantas used to use the tag line of 'that's the spirit' in all there NZ basses marketing.

Do they now use 'Onya Jit-star!' in NZ? ;)

Only at the CHICKEN counter. ;) "Would you like to chicken for your flight, sir?"
