Just wondering if there are any more benefits being rolled out to velocity ff. At the moment lounge access with SQ is a not very good especially when it a contract lounge, on re-qualification the hotel benefits are not renewed and also the WP and SG do not have too much over each other. any news if anything will change ?

VA, like other airlines, will not typically give any advanced notice of 'heads up' on FF program changes, unless it's required under their terms and conditions (typically 90 days/3 months, for a removal of a benefit).

I don't think i've seen any genuine addition (read: the real definition of 'enhancement') to any FF program pre-announced. It's a very very commercially sensitive matter, and airlines are always trying to strike that fine balance between loyalty and keeping the bean counters happy.

tldr; Nothing they will tell us about until they're ready to tell us =)

thanks drewbles. I agree no airline would like to announce anything for such is the nature of this industry but was wondering if anyone has heard of anything in the grapewine :)

Stick with Gold.

As for SQ lounge access it is just temporary.

hey JohnK, sorry but did not get what "lounge access it is just temporary" means.

SQ lounge access arrangements are temporary until the new lounge is built?

I noticed in todays paper Chief John is getting a $350,000 per year increase in base pay the same year Virgin lost $98M.

At least one person got a benefit out of Virgin passengers. Oooops, wrong way around, you mean passengers getting benefits.

Given the doom and gloom predictions coming out of all airlines lately, I wouldn't be surprised too much if the next enhancements were instead "enhancements" (and one has to be up to date on FFer terms to understand that drivel ;))

Hey JohnK, what I mean is that SQ lounge access is only at ports where SQ maintains its own lounge, I agree *A lounges are out of question but contract lounges should always grant access similar to what EY does...

and also, SQ lounge at SIN is only the bare minimum offering, as opposed to 1st class at AUH when flying EY as Velocity WP.

If they really wanted to provide some extra value to their WP members, they should allow them access to the SilverKris lounge in SIN.

Not likely to happen, SQ 'guard' their SilverKris lounge access at SIN vigilantly and quite rightly so. *Golds cannot get in either.

In a way I do appreciate that SQ protect their priority boarding lanes and SilverKris lounge from the masses who have *G cards that are handed out like confetti. Although PPS members have access to the SilverKris lounge, I suggest it is much harder to attain therefore incomparable to VA WP.

Perhaps if they were to increase the requirements for VA WP, such a change would be suitable and welcome.
