Just curious at to what thoughts people have about this wine release. I recognise that its a "brand" (LVMH), but the background and the reviews all seem pretty impressive.

Have you tried it? Did/Would you buy it?

Not something I had heard of before you posted, the site I looked at had it at £225 so unlikely I would buy in the foreseeable future

IIRC I've read somewhere that there's only 2400 cases produced with the bulk of it heading to the States. Langton's is selling them for $500 a pop...but that's 4.something bottles of Diana.

I had just posted a reply to this, and when I read yours I was thinking, yeah, I just said this.... lol

2000 cases/24,000 bottles. 500 cases were sent to the US to 3 distributors initially it seems.

I found bottles for $225USD in the US, but they don't come in the individual wooden boxes, as they sell them from the wooden 6 bottle case......

The ones here in Australia come in a beautiful individual wooden box.

Happy to buy in the US, as I store many US wines in my brothers home cellar and bring a few at a time back here (or drink them there!).

Not sure the distribution here, but its limited.

I just received an email from Moet Hennessy about the Ao Yun being available from Langton's

The link goes to a registration page - no info on pricing etc

Thank you for your interest in Ao Yun - the finest wine to come out of China to date.

Got the same email. $500/bottle. For an unknown one with no pedigree from a up and coming (at best) wine region. Are they high? I don't think I'd even part with $50 for such an unknown.

I am not parting with any cash for one or more of these either.

After a shallow read up about them, I think it is going to be their collectability credentials that may make them worth buying for some. (high risk and only speculation)
