I guess this subject has been dealt with before. Therefore I ask for patience..

I'm 71 years young and consider myself a good loyal member of Qantas..and have praised their service & flights for as long as I can remember.

Being a Qantas FF for over 25 years- I've had my ANZ FF Visa Card for about the same period- always paid it off every month and would imagine I have a good Credit rating... I do not want American Express as it has no value to me and very few places that I shop offer American Express yet I feel as though I'm being penalised with the Qantas F/Flyer Reward Points for not accepting their offer to have this new C/Card that is being offered...

I keep getting emails from Qantas seeking an upgrade to the new ANZ/American Express Visa Card..of course there is no menton of what the Annual Fees will become with this new card...now I so confused about this.. and also very disappointed that people like myself who save up and travel approx every two years or so are being disadvantaged.

I would be most interested in your comments..

"Just love Flying & Travel - only need Lotto now & I can travel as much as I want too ".. LOL.

Sincerely

Grandma's Wings.

Qantas are helping to promote the card simply because it will require ANZ to buy more points off them, just like the other non ANZ products they promote, its ANZ that have changed the points structure on a number of occasions to reduce the benefits on offer and as a result, the costs of the card.

People who have provided ANZ with lots of profit by not paying of their card and thus paying a lot of interest, have in fact been rewarded with no change to their earning amounts or fees in the latest round of changes.

The messages you are getting from Qantas do mention fees: ^There is no change to your Total Annual Fee as a result of adding the ANZ Frequent Flyer American Express card to your account if you remain on your current ANZ Frequent Flyer account. As to what will become of fees for the card in the future, this information is never given out as the crystal ball just is not reliable enough ;)

Grandma's Wings, I was not too pleased about being more or less forced into get the Amex. However, I have it now and, as markis10 stated, the annual program fee has not changed. If you need further info, feel free to private message me.

In exactly the same boat here, awaiting the arrival of the new cards now. Really annoying the be shoved the way the institutions want me to go, not where I want to go.

I've been ANZ for 10 years now & wasn't simillary impressed () when they reduced the dollar to point ratio on the Visa frequent flyer card, from $1 for 1 point, down to $1 for 0.5 a point.
So i took them up on their ANZ Amex offer & i always try to use that first & (most places take it) & if they don't i knew they always take the Visa card instead.
Mind you the double points offer on the Amex card for the first 3 months was nice :D..
I know that i can vote with my feet & take my business else where, but at the end of the day i'm too lazy .
