Looking maybe at end of Feb next year for 2 nights.

I have checked the luxury lodges website but nothing so far. They have a box when booking for promo codes so I figure they must advertise somewhere - but I don't know where.

They actually had a sort of sale about 3 weeks ago.But it was only for stays up to the end of September.
The 2 places I see them advertised are Luxury Escapes and the Australian Traveller magazine-pretty well identical offersJust sign up for their regular emails.
As I said in another thread later in the year we are staying at the Southern Ocean lodge on Kangaroo Island-it was booked through Luxury Escapes but Australian traveller had a similar offer-but again only until the end of September.
I have seen El Questro and Sails in the Desert also through them with a reasonable discount.

Cheers for that! I think luxury escapes tend to be ~ a week stay whereas we're only after 2 nights. We only have a week and a bit to get around Tasmania. It's our last Aussie state to knock off. That and the price preclude staying any longer. I've been checking the luxury lodges website of Australia, called amex - no deals with Saffire and even emailed Saffire. I'll keep an eye out though. End of Feb is probably still high season.

I'd recommend hiring a car at the airport for KI. It's more expensive from SOL and it's much nicer to go at your own pace or hang around longer at certain attractions. They'll give you a picnic basket if you want to head out for the day. If you stay at any other Baillies properties you should get 10% off the next one and they have email offers for 50% off recently but I've not been able to take them up on that.

Sails in the Desert is an Accor property so you're better off getting the Accor plus membership even for that one stay. Maybe you're thinking of Longitude 131? Another Baillies property. The discount helps.

You should do a trip report for SOL.

For Saffire it was either a 2 or 3 night package. For SOL it was a 3 or 4 night package including transfers from the airport.
They do offers for many of the chain hotels-I have seen westins,ICs,sofitels etc. They are cheaper usually than buying direct-one day I might try a Best rate claim using the prices-not sure if it would count though.
Yes It was Sails in the Desert that was on offer, see above.

2-3 nights sounds perfect!

Interestingly I clicked through a few offers on the Australian Traveller (some had expired) and was rerouted to the flight centre. So I may need to do some calling around to get in touch with maybe a Tassie flight centre and somewhere else and email every few wks to enquire if there's any deals.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Haven't looked recently but I seem to remember either LuxuryEscapes or SecretEscapes have had some special offers in the past.

Look at their website intermittently - I've had offers of pay 2 stay 3 from having stayed there but I think they were avail to all.
But my suspicion it is only during low season eg winter
