Are you trying to preach to the converted? I am surprised it has taken you this long to discover Amex.

I have seen similar promotions, buy 2 nights get 3rd night free, from Amex at Best Westerns. As hard as I tried I could never find the right available dates for the promotion.

I've always been quite wary of credit cards, though been rather tempted by the miles. That insane AMEX promo last year brought AMEX to my attention, and was the straw that broke the camel's back I s'pose. No doubt they'd learnt their lesson and won't have such a promo again sadly, but the points are flowing in nicely as it is.
