Just for everyones info, I thought I'd add my experience in trying (unsuccessfully) to credit points to velocity while flying Etihad.
I had booked a flexible Y flight SYD - AUH - FRA - AUH - MEL for my wife and I, which we travelled on a few months ago. My points for the return flight were credited after 10 days or so, which I was pleased with. However, neither of us received our points for the first flight, even though we sent scans of boarding passes/flight itinerary's stating travel class Y etc. etc. My wife received an email today saying that Etihad counted the fare as T class which was ineligible for point/sc accrual, which was untrue (especially considering my points for the return flight had been allocated with no problems. So we've sent our documentation yet again in the hope of getting the points owed to us.

I am a loyal virgin gold member, and enjoy their service, but have so far found their partnerships to be almost impossible in terms of getting points credited to velocity. I flew SQ a week before the etihad flight to KUL then SIN - ADL and the second trip was incorrectly credited to my Krisflyer account even though I had requested my velocity.

I should note that these flights were not booked online.

I see on this forum that this doesnt seem to be uncommon. I am flying VAustralia Premium Economy to SYD-AUH (with Etihad on to FRA) in two months time. This was booked on the virgin australia website so I'm hoping that that makes it easier to get the points credited to Velocity???
