Hi,
I just booked a long distance Amtrak train trip for later next year using my RACQ membership to get the AAA discount.
I had accessed the 15% seniors discount for myself and noted that AAA members and their affiliates could get a 10% off the base ticket .
When it came to doing the actual booking, I could not get the webpage to accept the "310" number on the back of my RACQ card. Nothing worked.
In anycase, RACQ was useless as was a national site sycs.com.au that looks after international travel discounts for motor clubs in Australia.
In any case , the AAA contacted Amtrak and the answer is this:
What to do ?
On the Amtrak booking engine page under AAA discounts,
Enter the three digit club code in the club code field; 310
For the Membership Number, use the club code followed by three zeroes: 310000
It worked fine.
