Aircrash investigations, BA 747 flying to perth caused by volcanic ash:arrow:

I've not noticed this till now so missed most of it, hopefully on 7's equiv of I-view. Is this the 1982 incident?

The Captain's announcement was:

"Good evening again, ladies and gentlemen. This is Captain Eric Moody here. We have a small problem in that all four engines have failed. We're doing our utmost to get them going and I trust you're not in too much distress and would the chief steward please come to the flight deck?"

I think you will also see it as "...we are doing our damndest to get them going...".

The apart from the engine failure and recovery, the part I find interesting that the flight was the LHR-AKL with 5 stops along the way. You don't get flights like that any more.
